Students will explore theological topics as they work through biblical narratives. Students will learn about covenant theology, soteriology, eschatology and more by studying the lives of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other biblical figures. 

FINANCE

Will Thomas - 14+ - 1 hour bi-weekly

This course equips students with practical financial knowledge for real life. Students will develop core personal finance skills, explore how stocks and bonds function along with their associated risks and benefits, and evaluate sound investment strategies. The course aims to give students a framework for making wise financial decisions and pursuing disciplined, thoughtful, and sustainable financial growth.

AUTOMOTIVE

Charlie Proulx - 14+ - 2.5 hours monthly

This course introduces students to essential automotive maintenance skills and basic vehicle systems. Students will learn to perform common tasks such as brake and rotor replacements, oil changes, spark plug service, alternator replacement, and belt inspection and replacement. Emphasis is placed on safe tool use, basic diagnostics, and preventative maintenance so students gain confidence in handling routine repairs and upkeep.

PSYCHOLOGY

Glen Fisher - 14+ - 1.5 hours (one seminar)

This seminar provides an introduction to the study of human behavior and mental processes. Students will explore foundational topics in psychology, including cognition, emotion, personality, and development, while considering both scientific findings and philosophical questions related to human nature.

ENTREPRENEURS

Christian entrepreneurs will share firsthand accounts of success and failure, offering practical wisdom and insight into what they believe are the essential principles for starting and running a business.

READING FUNDAMENTALS

Dana Skogen - By assessment - 1 hour weekly

This class begins at the foundational level and covers all major phonics rules. It is appropriate for children who are not yet reading or for students who can read but need a formal, structured introduction to phonics along with continued guided practice.

READING TUTORIAL

Dana Skogen - By assessment - 1 hour weekly

This class is designed for older students who already know how to read but need additional help strengthening fluency, accuracy, and confidence.

HISTORY

Reuben Jansen - Ages 14+ - 1.5 hours weekly

Students will study the Greco-Persian and Peloponnesian Wars through close reading of the classical histories of Herodotus and Thucydides. Students will also be introduced to historiography by engaging both the “father of history” and the “father of modern history.” In Herodotus, students will observe God’s providential hand at work even within a pagan historical account, as the prophecy of Daniel is fulfilled in Greek ascendance. In Thucydides, students will examine the failures of Athenian democracy and consider why later political thinkers—including the American Founders—sought to avoid similar dangers.

LITERATURE

Reuben Jansen - Ages 14+ - 1.5 hours weekly

This course guides students through the great Greek and Roman epics while also introducing the broader mythological tradition assumed by these works. Students will study the background stories and characters—such as the events leading up to the Trojan War—that are essential for fully understanding the epics themselves. The course also examines Greek and Roman worldviews, exploring where they intersect with a Christian understanding of reality (fate and providence, Hades and hell, gods and demons) with particular attention to the reception of the Roman epic in the early Church.

HEBREW

Reuben Jansen - 14+ - 1 hour bi-weekly

Students will learn to read the Hebrew script and practice the skill of pronouncing Hebrew text in class. The course includes memorization of approximately 300 vocabulary words and an introduction to the Hebrew verb system.

CALCULUS/GEOMETRY

Reuben Jansen - After Algebra 1 - 1.5 hours weekly

Students will study the fundamental theorem of calculus while tracing the historical development of the subject and examining the philosophical and theological implications of its discovery. Simultaneously, students will learn the fundamentals of geometry.

BIOLOGY

Reuben Jansen - 14+ - 1.5 hours weekly

This course explores the study of living things through readings, discussion, and hands-on laboratory work using The Riot and the Dance by Gordon Wilson as the primary text. Students will study topics such as cells, genetics, anatomy, ecology, and classification while participating in dissections, including cow eyeballs and cats, to gain a deeper understanding of biological structure and function.

INTRO TO LATIN (Ages 8–10)

Reuben Jansen - Ages 8-10 - 1.5 hours weekly

An introductory Latin course for younger students who are brand new to Latin or have completed only one year of prior study.

INTRO TO LATIN (Ages 11–13)

Reuben Jansen - Ages 11-13 - 1.5 hours weekly

An accelerated introductory course for older students, beginning at the foundations but moving more quickly than junior-level Latin. Appropriate for students with no prior Latin experience or up to two years of prior study.

INTRO TO LATIN (Ages 14+)

Reuben Jansen - Ages 14+ - 1 hour weekly

A fast-paced introduction to Latin that progresses rapidly through foundational material, approaching college-level expectations. Suitable for students with little or no prior Latin experience who are prepared for an intensive course.

ADVANCED LATIN

Reuben Jansen - Ages 14+ - 1 hour weekly

For students with at least three years of prior Latin study. The course will finish off Picta Dicta Volume 4 and introduce students to reading selections from the Latin Vulgate Bible.
